Dave36 Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 Hi we are new owners to 17 week old chicks, We are feeding them layer pellets but they dont seem very interested in eating them if we put corn in the pen they go mad for it, should we change there feed or just let them get used to the layer pellets, We dont want to see them go hungry, can anyone help please Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would harden your heart and only let them have pellets for a few days, and then maybe just a handful of mixed corn as a treat to lure them into their run at night. The pellets contain all the nutrients they need, whereas the corn doesn't, and too much can make them fat.
