We have just got our first eglu through eBay, I wondered how many chickens would happily fit in, we are going to put a convertor on the run, they would have to stay in the run most of the time as there are many foxes about

Three medium size hens will fit into a Mark 1 eglu comfortably or 4 bantams according to Omlet. With the extra run space you'll provide it will be fine to have the eglu filled up to the max amount of hens I've stated!

As a temporary measure I have three in a Mark 1 Eglu, and they are perfectly happy.

 

Three will be fine long term with the converter added.
