Soggy horses

Recommended Posts

Why does the weather wait until I've removed the horses rugs full time and packed them away for cleaning? :?

Looks like I'm in for a soaking getting them in to dry off for a hour or two.. joy!

Is anyone else doing the soggy horse journey today?

Mine are all hardy unclipped natives, out in the rain, they dont give a damn. :P If they shiver a bit they'll shift some lard!

This was my thought yesterday when all around me others were rugging up for the night.. although mine are clipped.. but when I went there this morning they looked so pathetic and shivering like mad so relented and put rugs complete with neck covers back on! in May as well!!

We do make lives difficult!!

Love it - made me laugh. My delicate thoroughbred was shivering as though it was mid winter and "OMG please rug me up". But my clipped Irish Draught cross was coping with a resigned "whatever, it's just a bit of rain"

 I went hacking with a neighbour today who treats her cob as if he were made of sugar and glass. She kept him in all day yesterday and all night cos of the weather (hence he was being a total prat). When I told her B*ggerlugs and Co had all been out all day&night in it unrugged she didnt half give me the hairy eyeball!

I love being the local horse hippie.....

:lol: Had a similar reaction myself when I whipped rugs off first thing this morning! Kept getting asked whether I was coming back to put them back on later... errr no!! that was a one off due to very heavy rain for hours & hours.. not bothered by a few showers!
