No Way!!!

I could not, and would not consider eating any of my girls no matter what age they were. Don't get me wrong, we still enjoy eating chicken but are happy to pay well over the odds to buy only the best free range meat there is.

I would feel like an traitorous hippocrite if I ate anything that hadn't enjoyed the kind of life my girls are having right now.

My rabbits don't produce anything - and I wouldn't dream of eating them!

 

Personally, I could quite easily stay vegitarian, as long as I had a supply of eggs and milk! And I only feed the kids organic free range meat at home. However, if the price of meat went up drastically (such as in a war situation) the kids would just have to eat meat less often - it isn't essential to eat it every day! If my girls stop laying, I'd just get more.

WOW I did not realise this was a hot topic.

 

Although I started to like the idea of the butcher I still dont think I could eat my own. We still eat chickens but now pay that little extra for free range.

 

New cube shoul dbe here by this time next week and the new girls from the Garden hen in Windsor will be available in about 3 weeks.
