ubereglu
I went to the Bath and West show with my parents yesterday. We had a lovely day apart from the torrential rain and practically paddling up the field to get to the car. I especially liked seeing the chickens on show! They weren't any last year due to bird flu and it was nice to see some. However we have now come to the conclusion that Spice, our Barnevelder is actually a bantam after seeing a large one on show and the size of the egg she laid in her show cage! However I have now fallen in love with bantams after seeing some gorgeous Sebrights and fluffy pekins. Unfortunately I'm not allowed anymore chickens at the minute as the eglu is full and I don't think the garden could cope! However we still have the wooden coop... The Dogmother
I love Sebrights too Liz. You's like my pekins - they have feisty characters, but are prone to broodiness.
ubereglu
I find them sweet. The same with RIR bantams too. I liked the sebrights because of the gorgeous marking they have and just how delicate they are... Uh oh, I think I fancy a bantam flock too now. The Dogmother
Sebrights have really pretty big dark eyes. My RIR has such pretty colouring and is very cuddly too.
chickencam
We went to the Three counties show last year and got drenched, it must be a show tradition
ubereglu
Well it seems to if the show has been down here in Somerset. They had to cancel the Sunrise Festival as the field was flooded and all the back roads were and apparently it's been very chaotic in Ilchester. Mind you anyone at the Bath and West today should have glorious weather, as it's lovely and sunny now!
