Can anyone tell me how many eggs a Pekin Bantam & a Wyandotte Bantam should lay on average please x

I have one pekin who lays every day and another that is the same age who lays every other day. Then, my third pekin lays for a few days, has a day or so off then lays for a few days again. This one also falls asleep after she has laid an egg.

My pekin's are very hit and miss with their laying. Also, they are prone to broodiness and stop laying.

 

Little Flo was broody a few weeks ago and we have had 1 egg from her since. Daphne is broody at the moment so nothing from her and Edna appears to be copying everyone else as no eggs from her for a while either

Did you spot my music themed names Janty? (well other than Belina which my daughter chose!). The Silkie was named by my OH even though I said a strictly ska/punk theme he has to go for a 'Heavy Metal' name.

I was thinking about Nancy, as in Sids wife or Sally Brown after the ska song, or Pogo...the list is endless

DD's pekin lays 33g eggs five days out of six and my SLW lays 38g eggs about four days out of five. The kids love the bantam eggs and DD won't let anyone else eat her Yum-yum eggs! We haven't had them through the winter yet, although Bossy was already laying when we got her at the beginning of March.

 

Our pekin is much more friendly and willing to be handled than the SLW, who is really quite aloof, so the kids aren't interested in her at all. Both are quite noisy for their size, you can hear the SLW at the end of the road when she's got a strop on!

 

Ah, Slayer! South of Heaven and all that! Can't beat a bit of thrash!!

Scurry lays occasionally, sort of several days in a row then nothing for a few days.

 

Snowy (as far as we are aware) is a free loader and has failed to produce anything........too posh to push!
