clarissahen Posted June 2, 2008 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Well, I picked up 3 ex-batts on Sat to be new best fwendies with Clarissa ( sole survivor of a vile midday last Monday fox attack). 3 half naked half deep rust feathered ladies were decanted in to two eglus. One por dear got to go in with Clarissa...a sweetie and once ranked 3 out of the flock of four.... Well, she now has the most feathers and is, besides, my ab fave, so she pecked away at her new roomie...for a few hours. They now seem to have come to some arrangement abd there is only the odd admonitory nip. They all seem very confident and well. All three laid eggs on first morning and again today! Clarissa has carried on laying every day despite witnessing the massacre of minty, bella and demelza... very cool. Anyway, their names are Eudora, Francine and Gernaine,,tho' i have yet to decide which names suits whom... I did consider calling them Fox-fodder 1,2 and 3 but since they won't be free-ranging until the end of June when they move in to Chicken Ritza, they won't be available to the fox at all so cynicism not required.
