MrandMrsG
I've recently purchased a FliTrap, which one or two of you lovely Omleteers recomended a while back - trouble is, the instructions are so blinking vague as to how much water you add - I've looked at the instructions on line and it says ...... Instructions: Step 2 Unscrew the lid and pour in the contents of the sachet. Pour warm tap water (not boiling from a kettle) upto the vertical fill line pre moulded into the product. Either I'm going blind or stir crazy but I cannot for the life of me see where the the vertical fill line pre moulded into the product is. Mr G can't see this line either! Please help
Duckmomma
A few of us had the same problem I am sure some one said they contacted the flitrap people and they revised the instructions Anyway, when I mailed them I got a reply telling me to fill it about half way. Hope that helps Just wanted to add.. don't worry if it appears not to be working for a while Mine took about a week or more to get going, now there's a right rave up going on in there

BarbaraJ
i think it must be the same stuff because i had it in my chicken run and it was foul next to the coop but have moved it next to hubbys shed in a tree and its alot better, doubt the neighbours can smell it though, i can't now unless i get close! AJuff
I got a similar thing from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130218487013 and i also didn't think it was working , a week or so later and theres a nice layer of black flies They look really cool. When it's full or no longer effective do you take the milk bottle off put a lid on it and throw it away?
Egluntyne
Why not contact the manufacturer?
StephanieSB
I've been told they work brillent ,but smell foul is this case thinking of neighbours I only smelled mine when mixing the powder with the warm water -- not nice . First day, hung it in conservatory, as we had lots of flies coming in out of the rain for a bit -- didn't smell anything. Then hung it up outside over the trash bins.... works a treat! I cannot smell anything when I go to put out trash (we have it hanging low from a tree branch, so close enough).
Phosphorus
They sent me an email saying to fill it up by 1/3 with warm water (I forgot and used cold but it seems to be working ). It did take a week or so to really get going. Not sure if mine or my compost heap is smelling - did notice a whiff today but then my run is due for a major clean out on Saturday
MrandMrsG
Why not contact the manufacturer? Thanks Egluntine, I e-mailed them earlier today and I'm still waiting for their reply, which prompted me to post on here!

MedusA
I filled mine about a third full, having read it somewhere on here. It took a few days to work, but now is getting lots of flies. It does smell a bit which is the attractant, I suppose. It's better than having loads of flies in the girls' run though.
