alih
I have just acquired 2 new beauties who are in the eglu/ run whilst my 2 big girls sleep in the rabbit hutch and free range. So far so good - some curiosity but no viciousness through the bars! I will take it all very slowly as the newbies are quite a bit younger, but wanted to get some emergency provisions in just in case...where can i find the gentian violet spray/ bumper bits/ ukadex? Thanks in advance for what I know will be sound advice!
Egluntyne
You can get Gentian Violet Spray and Bumper Bits from **Wernlas Collection** and Ukadex from **Regency Poultry** (They call it anti peck spray on the website). Give them a ring. They are very helpful.
Christian
Hello Alih! Bumper bits Gentian violet is available from horse tack shops, also known as purple spray. The domestic fowl trust sells ukadek I believe but have not used it myself. The Bumper bits should do the trick though! Good luck with your newbies edited to add - Egluntine can type faster than me! Keanie Bean
Be a bit wary of the Anti Peck Spray. I used it on my chickens and they just got even balder. Give a tea tree oil spray a go insted. sarah.x
alih
thanks guys - it is all quiet on the chicken front - I have read and reread all the helpful threads about intros and am taking nothing for granted, but so far there is no more than curiosity - but it's funny looking at my bossy big girls compared to the new ones - a bit like watchinga toddler and remembering what she was like as a newborn! How did they get so bold?! will get the bits and purple spray in just in case....
