They appear to have a good stock and website... and they have answered my enquiry email. Just wondered if anyone has experience with them before I commit. beach chick Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I nearly went there, but then found someone nearer. website is good, they respond to emails etc - only thing I didnt like was that they told me when to come for the birds, and I got the imprssion that if I didnt go when they said there would be nothing left (tho I could be COMPLETELY wrong about that). (The Mendlesham Amber, The Fenning Cou Cou ( speckled) & the Mendlesham Blue) in March 2008. I bought 3 Pepperpots from OMLET but he also had them but called them something different 'Black' oh sorry cant remember what he said now!!! I've been very happy with mine. They're lovely chickens - they look good & healthy. All emails i sent to him were replied to. He emailed answers to my questions, before & after purchasing chickens. Telephoning me too. Friendly & helpful. I don't think he is the breeder, but has a nice set-up going - his whole garden is dedicated to the chickens all in specific individual runs (HUGE) to suit. (naturally the bantams are kept in their own separate runs from the hybrids etc) I would definitely buy from him again if needs changed. You will see I have posted about him all over this site We have had 11 chickens over 3 collections from him since last April and I wouldn't ever go to anyone else. He is not only a great guy but his is incredibly knowledgeable and always on the end of the phone or email for advice. He does sundays, but I work on a monday and think i should be here the first morning... Do you agree or am I being over protective already!! redfrock Posted June 20, 2008 Share Posted June 20, 2008 You can pick them up nice and early so that you have all day Sunday with them. We did that with our first lot. Also his hybrids are already free ranging together so hopefully that should mean minimal problems. You have to do what you are most comfortable with.
