kingandy3
This morning, I went out to check for eggs and found 2 in the nestbox. This is, of course, perfectly normal. But when I reached down to pick them up, one of the eggs was really rubbery, very similiar to a water ballon. It had the same shape as size as the other egg, so they were both from Chilli. The other egg was a normal 82g egg. Yesterday, the door to the eglu blew shut before Chilli could go lay an egg, and I was out. could it be anything to do with not layinga and egg yesterday??? Egluntyne
It is a soft egg. Maybe the shock of the door closing did it. Push the handle down and it should stay open. They lay soft eggs occasionally. Nothing to worry about unless it becomes a regular event.
Ain't Nobody Here
I had a softy yesterday too - and they'd all laid normal eggs as well . Nothing to worry about unless they become a regular event .
Snowy
It does sound possible if she held onto an egg from yesterday, laid that one, then the softie that didn't stay in long enough to have shell applied.
