There is a button with a circle on it next to one with a musical quaver on it, try pressing that. Quick presses changes the back light, a long press turns the screen off. He had to put up with me umming and ahhing, (I dont know about psp's) he was asking me to try different things.. in the end I just let a huge frustrated sigh and he said, we;ll send you a replacement..
