Has anyone used trellis as fencing? We're now contemplating fencing off some of the garden for the girls so they can trash that as we're just not keeping them in the run much at all It would then mean we can claim back some of the garden and get it looking nice again. I thought that trellis could work but hubby not so sure. Thanks

I use willow fencing/trellis on 2 sides of my chicken area and use a retractable trellis over the gate

 

 

 

They have never jumped onto it, as it is quite flimsy and I don't think they are brave enough

Thanks Christian, that looks great and LOL at the grass as we've noticed a rapid decline in ours. Mind you that's our fault for letting them free range so long in the day. It's those pitiful looks they give us that then send us on a guilt trip

This is the same area now.

 

They aren't allowed in until autumn when most of the veggies have gone and the winter ones covered/protected.

Hens will get through the ordinary square trellis panels. We had some spare Omlet type netting and stapled that to the lower 2'.
