I read an earlier thread about 4 chooks in an eglu. I have my two girlies at the mo and they live in a pink eglu with run and extension, free ranging as much as poss.

 

I was wondering about getting more in the summer hols when I am not at work in order to spend more time with them.

 

Would they be ok with two smaller hens (bantams?) or what would anyone else suggest.

 

As you may have read already I only get one egg a day if lucky and usually they eat it before I get to it.

 

So I thought maybe roll away nest box type thing and also I wanna add to me flock>>>>sorry to gabble on

Yes will do eglutine I am doing my homework first and looking into the idea as i would get them in the school hols so that i am around more.

I have a copper black maran, and she's very beautiful - rather elegant and definitely laid-back. she's quite shy though. supposed to lay choc brown eggs when she's ready - which wont be for a while I dont think.

our maran is a great layer, in fact our best. She's active, perky and lays lovely dark eggs with rock hard shells. She is the least friendliest of our girls though and is not fond of being cuddled like the others!
