BooBoo
Please can anyone offer me some advice? In the last few months Alice has started tugging and biting my clothes. She does it from the moment I pick her up and most of the times when she is on my lap. Inevitably, she sometimes bites through my clothes and nips me!!! I have tried putting her back in her cage in case she needs the toilet and then bringing her out again, with no effect. .....its as if she doesn't like being stroked or being picked up anymore (which she used to love). Does anyone know why she has started doing this? or anything can stop her doing it
cluckbok
Have you tried holding her swaddled like a baby in a tea towel or small hand towel? that might calm her down a bit. One of ours gives little loving nips never bites and she sometimes nibbles our clothes. I have sometimes held ours in a towel and it does work with ours. BooBoo
Hello - yes I tried that and she wrestled for all her life with the towel!! However, the good news is in the last few weeks she has stopped all her chewing and tugging and returned back to her old self. Very strange. I still have no idea what caused it or what stopped it! But she is back to being a happy g-pig again so I'm not complaining.
victoriabunny
One of mine started being very twitchy and jumpy on my knee once - turned out that she had a skin infection which was making her sore, and stroking her was painful. If yours starts repeating the habit, it might be worth getting her checked out at the vet.
