little cluckers
I've just realised that I've bought mash instead of pellets, I've never used mash before and I can't take it back to the shop because hubby has ripped the bag open - what do I do with it? Will the girls mind? and do I need to put it in a bowl or can I use the same thing that I use for the pellets ? (not sure what its called but you fill up the top and it comes out of the bottom) HELP!!
Stevie
You feed it as normal.Chooks as a general rule prefer mash, but it is messier.
little cluckers
Oh ok thanks, I don't mind the mess I wasn't sure if I had to mix it with water, so I'll give it a go when I go back out, thanks again Stevie
Stevie
It takes them longer to eat so therefore is good for chooks which are confined to a run.I bought a small bag a while back and mine went nuts for it,but they also scattered it all over the place. Janty
Mine have pellets available at all times but every morning they have layers mash mixed with warm water, cod liver oil and marmite. I also add in some poultry spice during moults or the winter and limestone flour to help with the egg shells. They love it so much that they go mad when they can't have it (I ran out for two days last month when the delivery was delayed).
