 I've had my Cube for over a year and never cleaned the ladder.

I check/clean the nest box daily, the poo trays every other day, and the bars less frequently.

Then, everything just now and again, but I didn't even think of the ladder.

It still looks clean! :D:D

I really don't think anything outside such as the ladder has to be clean on health & saftey grounds. The only reason for cleaning it would be if you are henhouseproud: it's the equivalent of scrubbing your front path.

I find that it doesn't get very dirty anyway: the hens must rub the dirt off with their feet. (Anyway, I have the Quentin Crisp view of housework: that after a certain point it doesn't get any worse.)

I do clean mine each week but maybe the novelty will wear off nearer winter

I just get in the run with a scrubbing brush and soapy water.. takes about 2 minutes to get sparkly!

( I do have a flap door so easy to get in and out though!)

I cleaned mine this morning. Needed it desperately after only 3 days wet grass and poo prints.

I crawled into the cube just after moving it to fresh grass (so I didn't get covered in muck). And just used my pet-friendly spray cleaner and a cloth. Came off in seconds -- then I let the girls out and went around back to do the other chores.

It will be a lot easier to hop in to do that job when the rest of my run arrives and I can do this door conversion, and get in and out much easier.
