Valkyrie Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 Well it didn't take long. Sunday evening I popped out with a few grains of corn and they loved it. DD wanted the birds to come to her, so I said put some corn down by you. That worked and she was happy. When we went to see if they had gone to bed, Apache was on the ladder and yelling. They all ran up to the door and I told them, no more sweetie treaties and so they all marched up the ladder to bed. Who said they are semi-comatose for night time cuddles? They squarked their heads off! Yesterday for extra room, I took out the wooden ramp. Then I went to a friend's for a girlie evening. I had a call from DD at 10.30 saying the girls were making such a racket they could hear them indoors (DD had given them their corn a bit earlier). It was either a hedgehog that had frightened them, or more likely OH hadn't put in the ramp and they were making it known that they wanted to go to bed! I think the neighbours know now! Other jottings - Apache exercised her wings and fell sideways into the tub trug that I put in for dirt baths. She quacked and jumped up and looked around as if she was saying ""Ooops, word censored!"ody saw that, right"! When OH and DD moved the cube last night they forgot to drag the tub trug out and the whole lot emptied onto the grass in the new spot. The girls have had a great time scratching in it and now that the dirt and lousie powder has all but disappeared - and that is the time when Cheyenne wants a bath in it! Start as you mean to go on, and I let them out at 9 am - there is an unceremonious dash for the food - perhaps 8.30 would be better! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I haven't been getting any e-mails lately - but it has all been sorted out now - apparently all mailings had been returned to sender - and I couldn't send any either. The domain people cut us off and hadn't realised we had paid a month ago . Not good as it is OH's business website - he had a right go at the bloke - who kept ignoring calls, wasn't in the office and all the excuses, finally he blamed it on the register. Seems all mod cons in the computer world but unable to see when bills are paid. Father in law confirmed yesterday by ringing to see if anything was wrong - and he is the one ususally asking advice for when his computer goes wonky! Egg Lou - the pics were posted on Sunday morning after a long battle with PhotoBucket! (The last posting was on Sunday afternoon and is halfway down page 3 at the moment). I know you asked for pics in the thread, and we got them on there eventually - you can always pop in and see them properly! Have ordered the extra run because it is really too small and the little darlings are getting bored. Don't like balls, and don't like the funny green thing dangling from the roof (cabbage). So I am going to copy your's and Maggie's adaptation. They have been fairly quiet - so far, today, well for the time being anyway. DD has been going "POOP, POOP" and then disappears down the garden. OH thinks they hate him because they run away (goodness, they have him measured already). I told him to sit by them longer like DD and I do. They are quite happy and come near us, then go away when they see you haven't brought the goodies! Mine would've eaten through the eglu door by then Laura - I don't think they were far from it, any later and there would be a big hole there! I've been up really early since we had them, so I think they can come out a bit earlier. They are quiet inside though, no honking to be let out (yet)!
