podstable Posted July 3, 2008 Share Posted July 3, 2008 fAILED HATCH OF MINI SILKIES THIS WEEK LEFT ME V.UPSET ALL SEEMED TO HAVE DIED AT ABOUT 18DAYS GEST. jUST ABOUT TO GIVE UP AND HEA RD NOISE FROM COOP, THE PEKIN FRIZZLES ARE POPPING OUT!! I HAVE HAD 2 BROODIES WHO CHOOSE TO SHARE THIS ONE BATCH OF EGGS,SAT TOGETHER ON ONE NEST,TOOK IT TURNS TO FEED ETC I WONDER HOW THEY WILL DIVIDE THE CHICKS UP BETWEEN THEM IF THEY ARE OK?? ROS. PS THIS MEANS NEED FOR ANOTHER EGLU EVEN MORE PRESSING . PPS I THINK THE RESIDENT FORUM PARISITOLOGIST DOING A REALLY GOOD/HELPFUL JOB. Been back to read the initial post again...sorry to hear about the silkies, you must have been upset. Afraid I don't have any knowledge to answer your question, but glad the parasite topics have been useful. Best wishes in handling the 2 broodies & eggs. Maybe posting on Practical Poultry would help, there seems to be a wealth of hatching experience there. Like the idea of another Eglu, hope it goes better for you and good luck with the frizzles.
