236 OCU
Do you think that if the Water Companies rescinded their hose pipe bans the rain would stop
The Managing Director
anything would be worth a try wouldn't it, our garden is a swamp, all 4 waterbutts are full and now overflowing onto what is left of the lawn Mind you Bristol water have already said there is not going to be a hosepipe this year as a week ago the local reservoirs were 97% full, must be overflowing by now I'd have thought
236 OCU
I think most of it is in my garden - the girls are wandering round looking decidedly damp - they don't seem to want to take cover Having said that, just after posting this thread the sun came out

chocchick
Hmmm raining and swamp here too. Susannah decided to have a "dust" bath in the mud, it was very amusing, and she has such a smug expression
clare*
The sun has just come out here But anything not weighted down with a brick is flying round the garden

Chicken on a mission
Unfortunately it is going to take a lot more than a few days of rain to make up for years of below average rainfall and raise the water table
Guest
My water company was the first to be allowed to impose extreme drought orders and from 27th May it will be illegal to use water at all! (OK, so I'm exaggerating! ) Here in the heart of the drought area, my girls have learnt to swim. There is a huge puddle in their run and the poor things are finding it hard to stand up straight because of the slippery, water-swamped mud everywhere! Did anyone see the cartoon on the front of the Telegraph today? There's a man standing in 6 inches of water in his house on the phone to his water company, asking if he was allowed to use a hose-pipe to pump water out of his house!
