I am getting a little uneasy about how my cube is going to attach to my flytesofancy pen. They have left a large panel empty of mesh, so I assume I just butt the cube up to it.

Any suggestions to as how I can make this secure?

I have taken a photo, how do I upload it to here?

Thank you

Alison

You could probably secire it with run clips, or cable ties.

We built our own pen with the Cube outside, and we decided it would be better to have something permanetly fixed to the mesh on the Pen, and then joiin the Cube run up to this permanent fixing. So we made a "docking collar".

We cut off a section of the front of the Ciube run, and used that.

Firstly, a pic to give you an overview

This shows you the Collar

This shows the snipped ends of the collar, bent securely round the Pen mesh. This is permanent

My husband then made me some curly brackets to join the cube run to the collar. I had three down each side and three across the top. In fact, I've replaced some of them rwith velcro resuable cable ties now.

We did a couple of other things as well. The door part of the Cube Run, which was at the front and redundant, we put at the back of the Cube, giving us an extra door to let the chickens out to free range.

The top arch from the front we kept in place. We did this because our cats like to sit on the Cube Run, and we left it in place for extra stability.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much WitchHazle for the useful information, photos and advice.

I am wondering about just putting the cube inside the run, else I would have to order a cube run to do that, and `i invested my money in the pen. If I do put the cube in the run, I will have to patch up the empty square with wire, but I do have a staple gun! It would then go right up against the shed wall for safety.

I'm having a run built at the moment, & am going to have my cube on the outside too.

I will cut a hole out of my weldmesh just big enough for my cube door, & have the cube ladder attached inside the pen on a wooden brace so it will no longer be attached to the cube itself.

Snowy Howells has done much the same ( but has a branch ladder instead of the cube ladder) & attaches her cube to the run with bungees around its legs & the run itself. TBH the cube is sooo heavy I doubt anything would be able to shift it if it's butted up to your run. Bellekatz has her cube outside the run too.

I think that the actual gap betwwee nteh cube 7 the mesh will be minimal.
