You knowwwwwwww..........(pondering something here,,,,)

We could do something similar..via the net of course as everyones in different parts of the country...*egg`cellent* idea... ok I hear groans from the gallery... but hey..L

Obviously not everyone has egg laying chiccys yet, but lets see.. you could do something like the plates set on the table..3 of your chiccys best eggs with your login name written on the paper plate or something...

Of course this is all for a laugh...

But!! goodness..I bet no other poultry forum has one!!

Ta Da.........L

Oh by the way, I think the blue eggs top left second piccy were first prize... I can see a small slip of red by them.. ( at least I think its under that plate)thats the 1st prize colour..

Does anyone know the protocol for showing eggs?

It's seems that they are all shown - one plate per breed/colour.

We have our village fete and flower show soon and there is an 'eggs class' -if I hadn't seen this I was going to have three different coloured eggs

While we are really only a hamlet the judging is fierce, as I found out the year my Gladioli were the best blooms but I'd cut the stems too short!

Any thoughts as to how I should do it?

You know something... country villages have their fair share of rivalry thats for sure..and competition is distinctly *Fierce*

I made a cake for the cake stall at my local and one particular woman who will remain nameless was not best pleased as mine was the only cake chosen for the raffles (again! LMAO!!) Anyway.. would you believe it but she drove at me, so I can fully understand your thoughts..

Have a look at this bottom of the pdf on page 5

http://www.bingleyshow.co.uk/class_entries/Pigeon_and_Poultry_Schedule_07.pdf

I`m sure there are no hard and fast rules at village level, but some village things are stepping stones to the next shows ect..like some dog shows..win a village then you go up ect ect..

Does seem though that they are colour by colour... wonder if theres anyone here thats been and seen many shows?

Perhaps your local show will have a list of rules from the organiser.

And best of luck by the way!

What a gorgeous selection of eggs!

I've just had the programme through for our village show, no eggs classes sadly, but there are clear rules for other things, ie victoria sponge, 3 egg recipe, raspberry jam filling, dusted with castor sugar, no wiremarks

Worth asking what the specific requirements are. :D
