Howwhywhen
Ooh ooh ooh! I just went to pursuade my broody to get off the nest to feed and when I lifted her off . . . . there was a duckling! It was still fairly wet so I have left her alone (she does have access to food and water if she feels like it) and hope for more by tomorrow morning! - I'm excited. Did you guess! Lesley
Oh! lovely! - we'll need photos of course! Ours should be due any day - I ought to prise her off the nest! Edited July 8, 2008 by Guest
Howwhywhen
How many are you expecting? I had only set 6 eggs as the hen is a first time mother. Entertainingly, I thought the eggs were from Aylesburies, but the duckling was definitely very dark, possibly black so it will be interesting to see the colour of the others - assuming more hatch out of course! Howwhywhen
And now there are 3! All nicely dry. And I think another one on the way! Will try and take photos this afternoon.

Lesley
How many are you expecting? Well........ she was sitting on 6 but we've had no duck eggs for weeks now - so she's either gathering up eggs from the other two as they lay or the other two are laying outside and the crows are stealing them We'll know soon enough

Howwhywhen
So these photos were taken at 2 weeks - if they look a little odd it is the netting I have over their run to keep out magpies/crows etc F.
