jules.chuck
Hi My chickens arrived this morning. They seemed fine then they went in the eglu around 11am and havent come out ! I went down to the run and checked all was ok and they seem to like it in the eglu. Is this normal !! I expected them to be exploring the run all day and then having to try and get them in tonight ! Any comments on your first day behaviours would be appreciated Julian
Cinnamon
Hi Julian, Don't worry - they will be nervous & a little wary to begin with. Give them a while to settle & you will see what bold little madames they are
Egluntyne
Perfectly normal behaviour. They will be a little timid and unnerved by the move, and haven't lived outdoors before, so have a lot to get used to. Give 'em time.
mrs chook
Mine arrived here on Saturday and are now beginning explore although they make a swift return to the eglu when they see my dog. They'll gradually get more confident, don't worry!
Lapinou
Ours did this and they're all over the place now. Give them a week or so
Guest
Huh! Mine wouldn't go in. It was like having a new baby again, waiting for them to go to bed!
jules.chuck
Thanks for sharing your experiences of first day Last night my son sat in front of the run and Henny Penny came out to say hello. This morning both are roaming around the run. I guess the food has changed thier minds They seem to be enjoying the rain. I think my son is chicken mad Julian
