My Eglu Egg Port Door Is Wobbly!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure that I remember my eggport door being wobbly.....it was a loose-ish fit, but no wobbles. However the really important thing is that it locks securely. As long as the door locks tight the chickens will be locked in safe for the night (and away from any foxy visitors). If you're unsure about it being secure then I'd suggest speaking to the Omlet team. They are very helpful and wouldn't want you to have an insecure door I'm sure.

I agree with Kate. Ours isn't totally immobile when it's shut, but it's impossible to open or make a gap of any size. So long as it's secure, that's what's important. I'd suggest contacting omlet if you find you can wobble it enough to make any gaps round the edges.

:) Yes, my guinlu is like that, yet my other 3 Eglus have a firm fit.

The guinlu bothers me a bit because there's a comparitively small action needed to turn open or shut the porthole. I find myself doing it 3 times just to make sure I don't leave it unlocked by mistake, yet with the others the handle turning is far more obvious.

Still, although it appears to be a wobbly fit (you can shake it) it doesn't leak or appear to be faulty, just weird.

Perhaps some recent batches came out this way, mine was delivered May '08, but it's not a problem.
