Tiggy
Im not sure which of my 4 are laying them, Saffy is the older girl ex bat & has never laid double yolks before, Patsy is a big girl and like the others is about 10 months old I think it may be her, the other 2 are smaller although the same age, we get an egg most days from each of them but after the doubles which are huge she stopps laying for a few days - I worry that these eggs are so big they will do the hen some damage whoever she is
Egluntyne
It usually settles down after a few months, and you will miss them!
hennymom
as you can see from my signature our hens started laying in april...we have at least 3 double yolkers a week, then ours dont lay for a day or two, then we get more double yolkers it has been like this consistently since april...only now as of this week are we getting 6 eggs a day and all "normal" eggs not many double yolkers any more...our girls are fighting fit and nnothing wrong with them at all...so try and enjoy your big ole doubles while you have them as long as the girls still lay after a few days don;t woory too much just use the doubles to your advantage and say an extra special thankyou to the girls for their hard work!!
