nicnoc
I have three lovejoy Miss Pepperpots: Eggatha Christie, Attilla the Hen and Tracy Beaker. Eggatha and Attilla lay beautiful brown speckled eggs regularly. Tracy started laying about three weeks ago, but her eggs are long and thin and seem to be more matt and pale - if i wash them they look similar to the other two, but then dry matt and almost look dusty. Does anyone know why this is Tracy is quite a lot larger than the other two and has dark brown eyes whereas the others have more hazel eyes. We are eating her eggs and they are no different - they just look a bit strange Will they always be like this or will they become shiny, brown and speckeldy like the other two? Egluntyne
Eggatha Christie....How clever! My tea came down my nose when I read that. My Artemis Fowl lays eggs exactly as you describe. I reckon it is peculiar to the breed. Welcome to the forum. I've got an Atilla the Hen too.
nicnoc
thanks for replying to me - i'm not really sure what i am doing on this website so am not sure whether this reply will work. I love the name Artemis Fowl - brilliant. I will cease being worried about poor Tracy Beaker's eggs and just accept her for the way she is. SharonX
I think you should be careful washing your eggs. I don't think they should be washed but I am sure someone with more knowledge will come along and tell you the reasons for this. Welcome to the forum by the way!
