choppish
what do their noises mean? Thre loud bok bok ing occurs when they are spooked by something. when they want to be let out of the run they sort of coo (rather loudly) when they are given a bowl of mealworms, inbewtween wolfing them down, they sort of crow too. its hard to tell what are nervous cooings and content cooings. do generally make content noises? Egluntyne
Content = a gentle clucking and purring type of noise.
jomaxsmith
Mine seem to make some sort of noise whenever I'm in earshot. They have general chatter noises, interested noises when they see me coming with some sort of food and slightly worried noises when they don't know what the food is that I've presented them with! The funniest one was when I dismantled the Eglu to clean it and Zee was waiting to lay an egg. The noises she was making really sounded like desperation! I felt so guilty I had to dry everything with kitchen roll and put it back together quickly to give her some relief! Jo
Yolky
My girls seem to be very quiet. The did loud bok boks the first time they saw the cat but now they just seem to give her the beady eye lol. Rosey does what seems to be contented boking when I smooth her. Just a quick question...my girls have been here only 26hours now. They seem very happy and settled already. I am wondering is being noisey something that comes with age or is the fact that they seem very quiet now a sign that they are quiet chooks?
