Guest
Emma, I have to thank you for the recommendation for Denn Farm. We arrived there on Friday evening and left around noon today. The weather was a bit erratic but what a lovely place, spectacular views and nice and peaceful. So, we've now officially christened the van, so to speak, apart from going for a day out in it, we've actually done the full camping monty! By the way, did you walk to 'The Bull's Head' while you were there? We were told it was a 15-20 mintue walk. Took us neartly an hour, down stony rutte bridleways and halfway there the heavens literally opened!!! It must have been about 3 miles away and then we had to do it again on the way back, never again! Next time we'll find a site much nearer a pub! Oh yeah, and we got to meet Joojoo too today
Rona
Glad to see you have been away and enjoyed your campervan. The 3 mile walk to the pub would be bad enough but to have to do it again on the way back after consuming large quantities of liquid ... chelsea
so was it all cosy in the campervan then? did you pitch up alright? Caravans and campervans are so cosy at night once you've got set up and relax. Glad you had a good time, a start of many more trips!
Guest
it was great, apart from the blisters from that walk We forgot several things, like a torch so we're making a list for next time. I can't wait to go again, probably The Peak District next time. We can't go too far away or for too long at the moment because of dad but 2 days is plenty to recharge your batteries It was funny because all the other camper van drivers (except the VW bus type ones) wave to you as you pass in the opposite direction We had a lovely middle aged couple in a tent next to us and we chatted to them and everyone else says good morning and hello. When you go out for a walk, other walkers say hello too which is nice I'll get around to posting some pics in my blog at some point. Was going to do it this afternoon but have just spent about 2 hours with the girls in the garden, part of which they had me digging up worms for them Well, just for Bea really, I saved the big juicy ones for her
Guest
here's one to be going on with http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/denn1.jpg the sky was bright sunshine one moment then thunderous black cloud the next, hence the strange garb! Joojoo
stop it!!! I'm sat her laughing to myself like something demented!! Ashley thought that was brilliant. He asked last night how he could get his phone to do it Tell Ian he has started a new trend. xx
Guest
the number calling has to be in the phone's phonebook and you can title it whatever you want and when that phone number rings you, it also speaks the name you have programmed it under. Ian has a flash phone, mine was a tenner from Asda so that's all I can tell you, technology annoys me! Right, got to go and make tea, catch you later, loads of love xxxxxxxxxxxx
craftyhunnypie
Hi poet, did you see the chickens & the wigwam at Denn Farm? When we go the pub, we always go by car..we once walked down that track. We then come back the van to get sloshed! Emma.x
Guest
saw the chickens, there was also a turkey, some peahens and some lovely calves Didn't get round to seeing the Tipi but loved the housemartins swooping low over the field to get the insects and the bats at night were cool.
