Mel (& Paul)
Below is a prayer from Mother Teresa. I dont think it matters if you believe in God or not, or whether you are Christian / Jew / Muslim / Hindu or not. The words are worth thinking about People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Suceed anyway If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God: It was never between you and them anyway.

I will try to live by them (but anyone who has seen my rant "grrrrrrr" will know its not always easy
Guest
Mel, I haven't come across that before, but I really like it. On those occasions when I ask'Oh, what's the point?/I give up', the point really is that THAT is what I believe I should be doing and want to do. That is the point: being the person that I want and choose to be, regardless of what other people think or say. Thank you for posting that!
