Anyone know Diss or the surrounding area?

Recommended Posts

We madly booked 3 nights away in our caravan near Diss (2 children 2 dogs) and have just found out it's due to rain the whole time we are away.

Does anyone know anything we can do with dogs near Diss?

It really is a pain having dogs with us however much we love them (if it was just the Guide dog pup we could go most places, but a greyhound is not so welcome!) I'm in a bit of a panic about how to occupy the kids in the rain!!!

Cheers in advance

Yep, you could head for Thetford Forest. Lots of things to do there and the walks are amazing. You could even Go Ape down there - up in the trees on rope ladders and nets. You'd have to watch from below with the dogs though!! It's about 25 minutes down the A1066 straight from Diss. There's Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens - 2 miles outside Diss. I think they might allow dogs but you'd have to check. There are train rides round the gardens etc and an old fashioned merry-go-round together with the Dad's Army museum and old steam egines that the kids can climb on. You could head to Wyken Vineyard on the way to Bury St Edmunds (again about 20 mins away from Diss) Lovely walks there too and a great place for lunch and a bit of shopping. Hope this is of some help. Where exactly are you going to be in Diss? I'm sure I can come up with other things too if I think hard enough !!
