delivery of chickens

Recommended Posts

I have a cube due for delivery in September and I'm wondering whether to add chickens to the order instead of buying them independently. Will it all still come nightfreight? and will the courier guy erect the cube? If not night freight, will my order date change to a later date so Omlet can schedule a delivery. Probably need to speak to Omlet really, will do on Monday, but just wondered if anyone knew.

We didn't have chickens with our order for a cube but we had to wait 3 more days for it to come by Omlet man rather than the courier. The Omlet man will erect the cube and talk you through using it. Our man was lovely and chatted away about our eglu and girls, 2 of the 4 were Omlet girls.

One thought are you within the Omlet delivery area?

Hi Mumpty

If you only order a cube or eglu I think it is delivered by courier and you build it yourself, unless you ask for it to come by Omlet. We had chickens with our eglu but when I ordered the cube I asked for it to be delivered and built by Omlet. Great service from the Omlet man, I would recommend them delivering it, if you can.

Night Freight don't construct the cube, only deliver it.

Omlet will construct the cube if you purchase hens from them. It is worth it and the Omlet hens are lovely. Your order date may well change, to fit in with their delivery shcedule......and you never know. it could be earlier if they are coming to your area and have room in the van.

Best thing to do is give them a ring.

You no longer have to purchase hens from Omlet in order to get them to put the Cube together for you.

This was the case with my first Cube, but it was not the case with the second. But you do have to tell Omlet when you order that you want to have it assembled. It costs nothing, and saves a lot of grief. If you don't tell them, they obviously will do it the easier way by courier.

Two caveats:

(1) You may have to wait longer if you want Omlet to assemble your Cube, as they only have a man with a van to do this;

(2) If you are outside the Omlet delivery area, you have to accept courier delivery and put the Cube together yourself.
