Haven't been around for a while but thought you guys might like to see the new additions to our chook population.

2 Partridge Pekins and 2 New Hampshire Reds, 10 weeks old and I think you will agree very cute, even with their purple spray.

Goldie is the boss as you can see she has all feathers in place.

I love the partridge pekins, I'm getting one of them but at 12 weeks so they're a little older.

Can I ask did you clip their wings?

(Sorry I'm anxious about tomorrow, when mine arrive)

No we haven't clipped the wings on any of ours.

The chicks are confined to a run as they are just too quick to catch unless they are sleepy.

The older girls have a new house and large run. They do get a bit of height when flapping after coming out to free range but haven't attempted any escape.

It looks like a mummy duck with all her ducklings waddling behind when we walk in the garden.
