Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

as title says really.....

 

yellow boil just a little smaller than a 5p piece under the eye

 

should i leave it alone? or should i put a water /salt solution on it?

 

(and i didnt mean squeeze it either )

If she's not to bothered by it, then just bathe the area with some warm water with tea tree oil in it (try not to get it in her eye). The warmth may encourage the boil to surface; when it does, watch that it doesn't get infected.

i thought about tea tree - but its so close to the eye i was hesitant!! i think i will try a salt solution first and just see how that goes. if it doesn't get any better i will then try tea tree

Hello, one of my ex-batts had a yukky yellow boil a bit above her eye. I took her to the vet, couldn't get a pin in it (too close to the eye) so we left it well alone and after a good few more weeks it 'fell off' of its own accord. The vet recommended bathing it with salt water only if was an open sore, said it was fairly common and they rectify themselves - and she was right! Hope your hen's clears up soon - not nice to have a spotty birdie!!
