Egluntyne
Egluntine..where do you find the time to navigate this forum and help so many people AND write really interesting articles etc.etc. I only work very part time, mostly from home and go in when it suits me. I enjoy the forum and it is a welcome distraction from boring bits of work and a housework avoidance tactic. Very sweet of you to comment. Thank you. Angels4
Angels4.....Love hearing your views of chook keeping across the pond...................... Jackiex Jackie, You are so very kind. I've not been sure if I've contributed that much to the forum, but, my life has been enriched 10 fold in the short amount of time I've been keeping and learning about chooks. Where else would I have learned about car boots, terramundi pots, and really a completly different prospective of life. I have to say I feel as though I recieve SOOOO MUCH more than I contribute, but I do try to share my thoughts when relevant. To be included in a post with the likes of Egluntine, Poet, Christian, ANH, Scrambled, Pengy, and Kate in NZ (who offer such timely and informative posts) warms my heart and brings a tear to my eyes. Not to mention authored by you, who I hold in such high esteem brings me great joy. You have brought a smile to my face and made my week. For that I THANK YOU! Take care of you, Mark
jackiepoppies
Things are good at the moment thanks Scrambled_! Very busy trying to renovate a very old, tatty barn on a shoestring. Good to hear college and your friend and her family are making good progress. Keep us posted! Now look what you've done Mark I didn't expect all your kind comments I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. As much as I love my life here and I wouldn't want to change it, I was just a little bit lonely. Having worked full time in the public sector and brought up 5 kids.....to move to rural France with just the OH and 2 dogs was a huge change. I got my 'pooter in March and my cube in May, it changed my life Nuff said! Did you have your car boot? If so, how did it go? Angels4
We did (there were 8 of us). and all of us has great success. I was able to find loving homes for 7 of Pumpkins kittens (I kept one for myself, a boy with double paws who I have names Linus), what a doll. As soon as my camera is back I will post some pics. We had great fun doing the car boot. I made $175.00 which I have out into a savings for when the cube becomes available in the US. We have also decided to make this a yearly event. I'm my dream is to move to the French Countryside with my OH (have to meet him though) with our dogs, chooks, maybe a couple of goats and pigs, and retire to growing our own and becoming more self sufficent. Have a great weekend Jackie. Picture of the barn when done would be nice. Take care of you, Mark
Guest
I'm flattered as well - such exhaulted company! I'm glad I'm still inspring people - I've not written on the diet blog for ages and I just keep meaning to. I heard another nice story today too - a former colleague started Ligtherlife after she saw how well I was doing. Well I noticed in her recent facebook piccies that she was looking great but so have the kids at school. Having been off for six weeks at just the time her weight loss started to show dramatically she has gone back this week and the kids now think she's had liposuction! I'm still getting the odd person who hasn't seen me in a while do a double take, will be a few on Monday, at a funeral where TBH I would rather not take so much attention. Ain't Nobody Here
ANH....regardless of all your trials and [few] tribulations I would like to say 'Thank You' for all the help, advice and support you have given to so many Omleteers in between times. Only just found this - what a nice thread, Jackie . I got so much help & advice from this forum when I started out, I just enjoyed being able to hand on the knowledge I'd gained! I'm totally addicted (have been from the start) and spend far too long on the laptop (I limit my boys on their PC time, should do the same for myself ). I also can't believe how incredibly supportive and caring everyone is when someone is in need of emotional or practical support. It's been a huge help to me having somewhere to offload where someone will always listen and respond. So thank you Jackie, and thanks for all your friendly and entertaining posts too . Cate in NZ
Oh, wow, Jackie, I feel quite gobsmacked to be included with such lovely forum people, and quite guilty that a hectic weekend kept me away from here for much of the past few days. I think though that the big thing is that this forum is such a lovely friendly place, everyone is so supportive and generous with their friendship. In my particular circumstances it's been really important that despite moving to the other side of the world and finding it harder to stay in contact with friends and family none of my forum friendships have altered. Just having that little bit of continuity has really made such a big difference to me, especially on the few occasions when I've experienced a bit of homesick-for- the- UK -ness Thank you too though Jackie, for your cheerful and interesting posts
