Yolky
Thanks to Alexgirl73 I have some flubenvet to worm the girls. I tried, as others have suggested on the forum, the grape method. The problem I found with this is that some of them eat their half grape quicker than others and then they try to steal the other chooks grape. So what I did was get a fresh corn on the cob, extract one piece of corn for each chook and then dab the corn about in the flubenvet. Then when you give this to the chook they will swallow a piece of corn in one (even my slower eaters) so this will ensure that each chook gets a bit. I feed the bit of corn by hand to each chook. Guest
I just cut the grapes into bite size pieces with a pair of scissors, then dip them in the powder but whatever works for you
Hen Watch
I use the grape method. I scatter a small handful of corn as far as I can, the chooks then separate to eat it and I can quite easily just feed a grape to each one as the others are preoccupied. Jules.
I had to take each hen from the run individually & feed her the grape then swop the hen over for another to ensure that they each got a dose of their medicine.
spratly0
I'm on day 6 of our first ever flubenvet and not one of my girls would touch any kind of treat if it had powder on It has been a nightmare but yesterday and today i think i might have cracked it! Raisins split powdered and sandwiched back together again ...... Gerty and Gloria almost take my fingers off ....... Mae and Ursula still need coaxing but managed to get it down ...... just hope it continues So glad that its only every few months.
Egluntyne
I could never manage the grape method. I always ended up with some seriously overdosed hens and some not treated. I find the mixing it with fed method the easiest.
iar fach goch
I've just finished my first course of Flubenvet, well the girls have! Started out with the grape method, worked fine for 2, bur 3rd refused, only for it to be consumed by greedy Twm. Tried again 2nd day, again Twm got the grape but managed to wrestle it out of her beak in an attempt to prevent overdose! Tried all sorts of treats, finally successful with quarter slice of cucumber each coated in Flubenvet - a real treat!
