luketoms
Hello all. I was wondering if anyone could help me? I noticed my Speckledy hen has a random feather growing out of her leg and then on closer inspection I noticed she has a few pin feathers/small feathers growing around her toes? What can I do about them, can they be plucked? I would have thought they would just grow back? Any help will be gratefully received!
Egluntyne
How interesting! I think I'd leave them in case plucking them allows infection to enter when she is paddling around in muddy ground. Welcome to the forum.
Jules.
My Rosa is a Speckledy, & she has a few feathers growing on her legs, just down one side. I was worried too, & I contacted the breeder about this, & was told its normal for this breed to have some kind of feathering on the legs. I don't know about featherey feet, but your hen probably just has her feathers growing in a different place to Rosa's! They are all unique after all. I wouldn't pluck them out. Ain't Nobody Here
Guess they're just like people - some are hairier (featherier ) than others . Welcome to the forum, LukeToms .
