As I said before, the lady there was very helpful and looked at my list of things and was willing to order stuff in for me.
Dave36
Hi All We tended to use Countrywide in Liphook by the station has a wide range of feeds grit and feeders also the mite powders, Also just found out that Kings of Sandhurst sell chook feed as well just a few miles from us in Farnborough so we will get our next bag from them. You would have found me likely the same - I think that would have been when DD and OH went away for a week and I was taking DS to work - or shopping with mother - and I had been blitzing the house (not that it looks any different now than it was before I cleaned it ). Although if I went jogging there would be a massive earthquake in Hook! Don't mind how you come - you would be welcome even if you had been up the chimney and covered in soot! sandyhas3chucks
How come so many of you in Camberley? Can i come to meet to, from Woking? Lets do a meet before Christmas before we all get too busy. Frosburys Frosbbury farm Gravetts Lane NOrmandy 01483232294 few minutes from Rokers which is near main entrance of Merrist Wood College. I find they are very helpful,. they have more 1st aid stuff there that people on forums have recommended. They also stock Organic food which Rokers don't. If anyone wants something in particular pm me IF I have seen it there or know they haven't I can tell you, save you a journey., all the way from far off Camberley Havent been to Backhurst as thought they only did food stuff? theres also a place with a weekday pharmsist (animal) Pantiles Garden Centre think called at Lyne Chertsey. got a fair few bits think its a "Country Wide" or something inside gArden CEnter. GreenGirl
Count me in for meeting up Backhurst does quite a few bits now, feeders etc, as well as anti-mite/louse bits, garlic, cannibal-stop spray I know the place in Lyne, it is a Countrywide, they have a small chook 'extras' selection for poultry spice, Smallholders range of food but loads of horse stuff so ok for ACV etc. Think I will try the other place in Normandy this weeked, i think I might be over-doing the redmite powder with my paranoia about them - have gone through a tub cleaning the cube in two weeks
sandyhas3chucks
Try DIatomous Earth, got from Omlet. "natural product" save Oding on chemical. sandyhas3chucks
I really shouldn't tell you this & encourage you to spend more.... But.... they only cost about a tenner now,all sorts of plaes sell them, they look like a kettle with a long nose. not the expensive pressure steamers! I don't think you need to be soooo fastidious! Anyone else have thoughts on this?
Mumpty
not the expensive pressure steamers! Anyone else have thoughts on this? I do have a steam cleaner ( the expensive one!) but it is fasntastic, it cleans all my hard floors brialliantly, I've only had it a couple of months and the day I got it, I went around the house trying to find things to clean, I blitzed every bit of hard surface I could find, it was great fun (that's sad isn't it!) but they are good. I'm hoping to use it on the cube when it needs cleaning. The girls came today and I went to Merrist wood to collect them, Rokers is opposite and I popped in there, they have an enourmous amount of stock, I shall be going back there again. About a get together, lets do something about it shall we, how about a meal out? We have a great tapas bar in Camberley and the atmosphere is good fun. Any other suggestions very welcome. All welcome locally, Woking, Fleet, Camberley, Aldershot, we're not too far from each other (if I've missed an area out, sorry, you're all still welcome)
GreenGirl
Now I know what to put on my Christmas list!! of course not for me, the chooks (I shall just ask for a small bottle of dettol ) I remember a tapas place on the service road on the A30, near the military college - is it that one? Would be good fun
sandyhas3chucks
tapas sounds good for me!
Mumpty
I remember a tapas place on the service road on the A30, near the military college - is it that one? Would be good fun Yes thet's the one, on the little slip road opposite the college. Mrs. G. has also suggested a garden centre for coffee, don't know if that's preferable to anyone. I know a lot of us work, so don't know how day time would work out. Lets all have a vote TAPAS GARDEN CENTER - COFFEE I'm flexible , I only work mornings with Thursdays off. How about the rest of you?
GreenGirl
hey I am open to either depending on time, I am garden leave at the moment so meeting for coffee during day is ok, otherwise evening tapas after work, can't do Monday evenings (clients for therapy) nor Weds or Thurs evenings (college) or Sats days (clients for therapy). and I convinced DH that I had time for the chooks So all in all, arrange something and I will try my best to make it with bells on PS - maybe a garden centre that does treat bits for the chooks, I think Notcutts on the A30 does (ok, so mine love those budgie/canary stick treat things )
sandyhas3chucks
I can be flexible. AnythingI will work around. How many of us? While we are all looking any vets you can recomend? Found one in Dorking bit far . Steph at Kingsnorth in Chobham not expert but will do but £25 to walk in the door! only ones on list are Hants I think
Mumpty
Think maybe we're trying for a garden centre and a coffee. All the Camberley ones have nice coffee shops, Longacres is nice. We do need to sort out how many of us are doing this. Maybe we should start a new thread called Camberley get together or something like that. jlo
If you choose a day when I don't work, please may a Hampshire lass tag along?
Valkyrie
Longacres isn't far from us either - but terrible idea for plantaholics!!!!! Then there's the cut flower section, hmmmm smell those lilies. If us Hampshire girls are allowed, I could bring Jlo too (then she can make sure I don't go home with any plants). jlo
Not sure I will be much good at curbing your urge for plant buying! Will happily share a lft though!
