maggiesfarm
Hi Folks Very new to chickens so not sure whats normal or what. My Light Sussex is passing strange yellow/orange poo. She passed one tonight and it looks as if there are worms in it, very small threadlike things (sorry, not brave enough to actually poke about in it). This was followed by a couple of "normal" ones and then a diarrhea type one. From looking on this and other forums it seems she might have worms. They have just started to go out of the run so have been eating pellets and some veggies. Have only had them for a week so any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Egluntyne
I'd treat them with a course of FLubenvet to be on the safe side. Approximately every 10th poo is a fairly horrible chip shop curry sauce type of yellowish poo. It comes from the caecum, which clears itself out every now and then. Nothing to worry about in the ordinary way, but if you suspect worms it is best to treat them.
BarbaraJ
I don't honestly think they are that bright to understand that they should be out really. Mine only fuss when i go outside otherwise they are perfectly happy in the run though it is quite big as i can see when i look out the bedroom!
