is SO nearly here!!!! Paris and Chardonnay have laid consistently since last summer; Sugar started in June and Meringue about a week ago. now Crunchie is looking ready to do the deed - bright red comb, a bit of squatting (combined with hysterical flapping) - and best of all, she went in and out of the nest box about 4 times this morning. nothing actually happened, but she's clearly got the right idea...

IS HERE!!!! All in the same nesting box, I had to count twice I was so surprised! Crunchie's first is TINY compared to the others, and a very pale shade with a browner patch on it. still weighs 35g though. as soon as I can find the camera lead I will post a piccy of today's collection. what a clever girl she is.
