Chooks Aloud Posted September 18, 2008 Share Posted September 18, 2008 Is there an anti inflammatory/pain killer that you can give to chooks? Thought I might try and give some to Dolly to see if it helps her limp. She doesn't seem in pain, the vet didn't mention giving her anything when I phoned, but I just wondered if anyone else has used anything in the past. Someone previously said they give theirs arnica. Is this the tablets you get from Holland & Barratt - if so how much? They also do arnica cream/gel - is this okay to use on a chook thats limp - I did get rather a strange look from the lady in the shop when I said I wanted it for my chooks. Have read of people using asprin don't know th dose, could you phone your vet and ask? also for pain they use metacam... he might prescribe you some if he has seen her already(reqired by law to see before prescribing) someone will come along with an answer 4 you. sandyhas3chucks Posted September 19, 2008 Share Posted September 19, 2008 well arnica tablets, the weleda ones as the disolve well. the ones my vhomeopathic vet gave my old dog for her arthritis is RNA which has arnica in too.(he told me this today) and confirmed th 3x daily.
