Hi everyone,

 

does anyone know whether the hole in the bottom of the eglu nesting "bowl" leads to the base of the eglu or inside the eglu?

 

My girls loved to sleep in the nesting "bowl" and therefore do a lot of poo in there amongst the shredded paper. Whenever I try to clear it, some poo will inevitably fall into the hole. so not sure if I am just storing up a problem.

It doesn't lead anywhere - just through to the ground underneath. I plug mine with a piece of rolled up newspaper to save the aubiose falling through. I just take the paper out when I want to clean it.

I find the holes in the eglu/cube useful when you are cleaning, to jetwash those last s"Ooops, word censored!"s of poo out that you didn't manage to collect. We use shredded paper and although some gets pulled out of the hole, we don't bother bunging it.

I was wondering the same thing too.

I put a sheet of newspaper on the bottom but on about 3 mornings it was sodden(as was the bedding!)

I wondered if it was dew creeping up, so pot a flower pot on it. bone dry, I think my girl was poohing too much liquid whilst laying softees (mine sleep in it too) so I have cut a piece of that stuff for bedwwetting & put in there. will be glad when I get my run & get it up off the ground!

There is another thread about this and suggests using bit of vinyl. From Ikea I think.

we do a similar thing, we put a bit of cardboard over the hole in our cube nesting box to save the aubiose falling thru
