FranF
We have a fenced off area of our garden for the rabbits and will make a new one for hens shortly. However, I've heard that hens and rabbits can live together so wondering whether to just make one big area with both the hen house and rabbit house and plenty of room for them to run around. Both would be shut in for the night in their respective houses. Bit sceptical about the advise I've had though - anyone tried this? Thanks. dylan
Hi FranF I have two rabbits and 3 chickens. When the chickens arrived they did have a go at the rabbits - especially Kirsty (who is top chook) - running at them and the odd peck. I think she thought the rabbits were part of her brood and was trying to bring them into order. The rabbits are still a bit wary and tend to keep their distance but otherwise fine. I never kept them in seperate areas or anything. Others may have had different experience - or braver rabbits (mine are fairly timid). tom123
My hens chase my bunnies but only very occasionally so I wouldn't worry. Tom
FranF
Thanks for your advise - I'm quite inspired now to give them a go all together. Thanks again.
rachelburdett20
hi we have kept hens and rabbits together for years without any problems, there is usually a bit of chasing and pecking for a start but hten they settle down and are fine together, only problems we have is with the rabbits eating the chickens food and getting rather fat! rachel
