The Dogmother
Phil passed this link onto me, apparently it's up on the site for another couple of days and is about free-range egg farming. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet . http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/youandyours/items/02/2006_27_fri.shtml

Guest
A friend told me about it - it was last Friday's. I listened to it on Sunday. I wasn't all that impressed, but I'm pleased the egg-thing is hitting the media.
Eyren
Thanks for the link - interesting stuff about chickens liking to roam in the woods. We used to be able to get free-range eggs (through an organic veg box scheme) from hens that roamed in an orchard, but the *@&$% wholesalers pressured the farmer into dropping his smaller customers so they could buy his entire output (to satisfy the supermarkets' demand) - grrr!
