Does anybody know whether you can still receive some channels ( ie free ones) if you cancel your Sky sub. Thought I'd ask as there was such a good thread on Freesat earlier.

Not sure, but when we cancelled ours a few years ago, we could still get all the free to view channels. Then we replaced it with a free view box so not sure if that still works, sorry.

Skysports news is definately part of a package - I have a subscription to Sky and I DON'T get 405 without upgrading. I have no sports, movies etc.

Yes I think that's what I'll do.

I'm on their "free" broadband, but I have to pay for snail speed as we are so far from a BT exchange, so will look for a cheaper supplier.

Let's hope Sky isn't as reluctant to reveal my MAC as Tiscali were
