chickencam
Our leeks are looking a little sad this year We normally sow them too late but this year we did them at the right time and they were lovely healthy plants when they went into their final position. They are now really tatty, I think it may be slug damage and there are a lot of other leeks on the allotments that look a bit like ours but a few that are healthy. They seem to have stopped growing too. Should we feed them with something? I like leeks for soups etc and had great hopes this year of a crop before February
eggypeggy
Mine are the same, bit sad and tatty!.. I was just thinking, I'll give them a little feed with some organic all in one fertiliser I have (like growmore). Should give the veg a feed every 2 weeks ish.. but never get round to it! Clur
Ours are like that two, but we pulled a couple up last week and they were fine to eat once the tatty outer-layers were removed.
chickencam
Ours are still too skinny to do that, although you could pay a fortune for 'baby leeks' in a restaurant or posh greengrocer I suspect
Tiggy
mine were doing fine until saffy escaped out of the run door as I was going in to feed them & pecked away & pulled up half of my baby leeks
