Mollystar
I woke at 1am & heard scratching against what I knew was the cube, left open with the chickens in & the run secure. OH grabbed the torch & ran outside, yeap, Mr fox jumped off the top of the cube, he has left his scratch mark but all the chickens are fine. I thought the chickens would of been making a racket but nothing really. I wonder if he is a regular visitor & I've only just noticed. All safe though

Mollystar
It's just like 4 or 5 faint 3" ish lines, the sound i heard was like a dog digging a hole with its front paws together on plastic. & when OH went out it was on top, so probably trying to dig through the roof
Daphne
When we first got our eglu the same thing happened, but only the once (about 18 months ago now) so I think/hope the fox(es) are curious but savvy enough to know thats not the way in so why bother expending energy. However, its a bit annoying to find your nice new shiny purchase with scratch marks on it! They still visit every night - mounds of poo - but stay outside the pens. Needless to say we are extremely vigilant about locking the chooks away.
BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
i found some fox poo in the garden today.......no marks to the coop tho'
LJ's Chooks
what is it with foxes at the moment... we know they come in at night, but we went through 2 weeks where it would be sat at my back door like a cat waiting to come in several times a day. Needless to say it was chased off down the garden. We have a large open pen for our girls and would let them free range all day. Not any moren. they are now in their cube run and hate it!!!!! sorry girls, but it's for your own good. Then just a strangely as the day visit's started, they have stopped. Wierd, but i can't trust mr or mrs fox anymore!
