Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

Hi

we have had no eggs of copper since july we reckon she is about 3 so still fairly young we have tried everything in the book from apple cider vinegar to sunday lunch yet still no eggs

Penny hasn't laid since August they have both moulted. Can someone pelase sugest something we can do or attempt to give a reason.

I think it depends on what type of chicken she is. If she is a hybrid then they tend to produce more eggs so get worn out sooner. I thought that 3 was about the age that the egg production would ease up. I may be wrong though.

I stopped getting eggs from my hens when they reached about 3 sadly. So just made more space and bought some new girls to take over from them.

Has she been wormed? If not, it might be worth giving her a course of Flubenvet.

 

At three, she could have arrived at the hennopause. They do start to taper off with their laying from around then.

 

It might also be worth having a good check for lice and mites as these can have an impact on laying.

 

If you keep her on layers pellets and cut back on free ranging and treats it might also help.
