cathybc
I have noticed Harriet sneezing a couple of times - literally just a couple of times. But her neck also looked wet the other day, I assumed it was rain but it looks wet again today when we had had a nice afternoon. So I am thinking it might be a runny nose ??? She is her normal cheeky self and still laying, but I would really appreciate some advice - I have just ordered some cider vinegar and citricidal from omlet. Should I do anything else and what should I look out for ? Should I make an appointment to see Auntie Molly (avian vet ?) Thank you for reading this Cathy & the girls xxxx
Hen Watch
Not sure...... is she eating/drinking OK. Wheezy??? One of mine as had the sneezes and a bit of snot last year. I gave Citricidal in water and it cleared up a few weeks later. Maybe it would have cleared on its own anyway.... I don't know. But she was never wet like your chook. If she is wet from her nose then is sounds quite bad. Perhaps a second opinion is in order.
Christian
I agree with Hen watch, a trip to the vet would be a good idea. If you listen to her chest/back, does she sound rattly at all? The vet will be your best bet. Hope she is ok.
Egluntyne
If it becomes yuckky and crusty around the nostrils, I would definitely take her to the vet. I hope she seems improved today.
cathybc
thanks for all your replies. She still seems fine in herself, coming out for a free range and eating as normal. But I will take your advice and get her booked in, I would rather be safe than sorry. Fingers crossed !
