mostin
Well done, I think keeping chickens makes us all more aware of the conditions our food is raised in.

..lay a little egg for me
well the pork is raised outside until 4 weeks then they go into massive barns with straw on the floor with natural light Ah ha! Is that what they mean when they say "outdoor bred" on sausages etc? I was trying to find some free-range sausages (well, sausages from free-range pigs I mean, not little sausages running around outside) in the supermarket the other day but they only had "outdoor bred" ones. I didn't buy them because I suspected that it meant they went into barns after being born and I wasn't sure what the conditions would be like there. daj198
For something to be labelled "Organic", the animal has to be allowed outside. In fact, the organic conditions are better than free range as they have more room. Sooooooooo expensive though
Barkisland
Good lad Aaron! Intensive farming is horrid, you are quite right. Free range meat tastes much better, and feels better on the conscience too.
